Old Soul
I'm an old soul
I know that this old world
Is gonna keep on turning
Long after I'm gone...
I've seen unhappy endings
Change to glad beginnings
Temples made of stone
Wither till they're gone...
I'm an old soul
I know that this old world
Is gonna keep on turning
Long after I'm gone...
I've seen maids and choirboys
Turn into whores and rovers
Emperors on their thrones
Swiftly turn to bones
'Cause I'm an old soul
I know that this old world
Is gonna keep on turning
Long after I'm gone...
Mighty rivers raging
Tigers put in cages
Cities of the sun
Forgot and overgrown...
Yeah, I'm an old soul
I know that this old world
Is gonna keep on turning
Long after I'm gone...

Echo's Song
She saw him by the river where he lay
His beauty seemed like from some ancient day
At first she tried to keep from coming near
Hoping that her voice would reach his ear
He rose, and got up upon his feet
She spied him, and hoped that they would meet
He called out for his friends who'd been with him
And heard his call returned but faint and dim
'Come to where I am!' he cried out loud
'To where I am!' she answered, proud
They moved towards each other with a haste
To be apart seemed suddenly a waste
She moved towards him, trying to embrace
When suddenly, a frown came to his face
He turned around and ran to get away
Avoiding that she'd kiss him, come what may
She couldn't reach him, though she tried her best
And realized then she'd never more find rest
He ended the flight by a forest pool
Seeking the seclusion, still and cool
There he bent down to where the crystal water streamed
When back against his face some image gleamed
He tried to bend down to the water's rim
And touch that image, but it eluded him
He lingered by that spot until he died
A flower grew out from where he had lied
She came at last to where that flower bloomed
And laid down next to where his spirit loomed
A happy tear at last came to her eye
And there she drew her final mortal sigh
Her body changed into a stone so rare
It returned every sound that came too near

Circe (Album Version)

Circe
On an isle where beasts roam
In halls that send out smoke
In a land of sin and woe
She rules her realm...
She's got eyes that gleam
Pearls that shine
Round n' round n' round she'll weave
Round n' round she'll twine
She isn't what she seems
She'll turn you into swine
She'll lure you to her bed
To the middle of her web
She'll let you be her pet
As she casts her spell...
Feast and
Wine....
She's got eyes that gleam
Pearls that shine
Round n' round n' round she'll weave
Round n' round she'll twine
She isn't what she seems
She'll turn you into swine

Wandering Aengus (Lyrics: William Butler Yeats)
I went out to the hazel wood,
Because a fire was in my head,
I cut and peeled a hazel wand,
And hooked a berry to a thread;
And when white moths were on their wing,
And moth-like stars were flickering out,
I dropped that berry into a stream
And caught a little silver trout.
When I had laid it on the floor
And went to fan the fire's flame,
Something rustled on the floor,
And something called me by my name:
It had become a glimmering girl
With apple blossom in her hair
Who called me by my name and ran
And vanished into the brightening air.
Now I am old with wandering
Through hollow lands and hilly lands,
But I will find out where she's gone,
And kiss her lips and take her hand;
And walk through long dappled grass,
And pluck till time and times are done,
The silver apples of the moon,
And the golden apples of the sun.

Arethusa (Album Version)

Arethusa
He saw your beauty, Arethusa
You laid your rags down on a stone
He saw you bathing, Arethusa
In his waters, all alone...
Who's this virgin of these woods
of whom spirits here do speak?
A 'roaming and a 'rousing
This old river from his sleep?
Why these slender and swift feet
In such a hurry to this glade?
Seeking something secret
In his pool here by the shade?
He saw your beauty, Arethusa
You laid your rags down on a stone
He saw you bathing, Arethusa
In his waters, all alone...
How could you resist his strength
When this river's not contained?
His gushing and a' flowing
Will devour you like a flame
He saw your beauty, Arethusa
You laid your rags down on a stone
He saw you bathing, Arethusa
In his waters, all alone...
How could you elude his grip
Like no one has before?
By a body changed to water
And returned to flesh no more?
Rushing like a rivulet
'Neath the ocean to your shore...?
He saw your beauty, Arethusa
You laid your rags down on a stone
He saw you bathing, Arethusa
In his waters, all alone...

Where Eagles Fly
I'm weary walking in this wilderness
Searching for the islands of the blessed
Guide me to dry land like a dove
Be the one that hears my lonely cry
Take me to where eagles fly
Smolder my ghosts into ashes
Pass my past by me in flashes
Teach me about that lily amongst thorns
Revive my dying embers with your eyes
And take me to where eagles fly
Play me the wild ditty of the winds
Show to me that this ain't no sin
Whirl me till I'm dizzy from this dance
Shelter me and be my alibi
And take me to where eagles fly

Charon
Hey, are you alone...
By the river bank?
There's people just across...
I'll help you join their rank...
You know, I've got a boat...
built for just that purpose:
to ferry people over...
come, don't be nervous...
Worried by my face?
That I look old?
Or by the waters?
That they look cold?
I'm old, that's true...
but I can really row.
I've been doing this...
since really long ago...
Wanna stay a little longer...
where you are?
But you know just like me...
that life is much too hard...
No need to fret.
No need to wonder...
Everything is certain...
there over yonder...
Feeling that those winds...
are far to frightening?
Or those waves...
too high and mighty?
Why, I've never sunk...
or been made a wreck.
My boat is far too solid...
for that...
And if you want:
A drug for you to take...
To help you ease the crossing...
to that land of shade...
Hey, are you alone...
By the river bank?
There's people just across...
I'll help you join their rank...

Mountains Of Mourne

Mountains Of Mourne
Oh, Mary, this London's a wonderful sight
There's people here working by day and by night
But they don't sow potatoes nor barley nor wheat
But there's gangs of them digging for gold in the street
At least when I asked them that's what I was told
So I just took a hand at this digging for gold
But for all that I've found there I might as well be
In the place where the dark Mourne sweeps down to the sea
I believe that when writing a wish you expressed
As to how the fine ladies in London are dressed
Well if you believe me when asked to a ball
They don't wear no tops to their dresses at all
I've seen them myself and I could not in truth
Tell it if they were bound for a ball or a bath
So don't be starting them fashions now Mary McRee
In the place where the dark Mourne sweeps down to the sea
There's beautiful girls here, oh never you mind
Beautiful shapes nature never defined
Lovely complexions of roses and cream
But let me remark with regard to the same
That if at those roses you venture to sip
The color might just come away on your lip
So I'll wait for that wild rose that's waitin' for me
In the place where the dark Mourne sweeps down to the sea

Mercy Me
04:42
|

Mercy Me
He built a city for eternity
With marble sailed in from the sea
Then waged a war, a war for their ideals
That lasted thirty years and never made them heal
Mama, mama, mama, I'm on my knees
Mercy, mercy, mercy, mercy me
Mama, mama, mama, I'm on my knees
Mercy, mercy, mercy, mercy me
He had a dream, that they would win
By a banner painted red with a cross
He had a dream, that he'd be crowned
Then roused his men to charge and force the foe to drown
Mama, mama, mama, I'm on my knees
Mercy, mercy, mercy, mercy me
Mama, mama, mama, I'm on my knees
Mercy, mercy, mercy, mercy me
He stood his ground, never budged an inch
And vowed that he would fight to make all free
He had a vision of a land that would unite
But left that land a long day's journey into night
Mama, mama, mama, I'm on my knees
Mercy, mercy, mercy, mercy me
Mama, mama, mama, I'm on my knees
Mercy, mercy, mercy, mercy me

The Dark Lady

The Dark Lady
She'll let some out of their sadness
And join lovers 'neath the moon
She'll slide others into madness
Bringing thrills, but also gloom
She's the workingman's relief, and
She'll make many dance a dance
She's a partner to the thief, and
To some, an only chance...
Night is slowly sinking...
With dreams and joys and woes
Creatures coming out...
Streetlamps start to glow
She'll bring some to think, and
She can change the hot to cool
She'll bring others to drink, and
Turn wise men into fools
She can get seekers lost, and
Make the guilty stay awake
She isn't cheap, you'll pay her cost,
She'll make you doubt what's real and fake...
Night is slowly sinking...
With dreams and joys and woes
Creatures coming out...
Streetlamps start to glow
She's a seductress, a femme fatale, and
She is someone to adore
She'll invite you into her arms, like
A lover, or a whore
Although she herself is stillness
She'll inspire violins
Although she herself is silence
She'll let many voices sing...
Night is slowly sinking...
With dreams and joys and woes
Creatures coming out...
Streetlamps start to glow
